God's marvelous work during the Fall of 2011 at Texas A&M

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!
Seek the LORD and his strength;
seek his presence continually!
Remember the wondrous works that he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,
O offspring of Abraham, his servant,
children of Jacob, his chosen ones!
(Psalm 105:1-6 ESV)

These quotes have been compiled from the students involved in Cru during the Fall semester of 2011

What has been a highlight of your semester?

“Watching the guys in my Bible Study step up and do evangelism and lead Bible Study”

“I really experienced intimacy with the Lord and freedom from sin”

“Having a guy come to Bible Study that we were praying for to come”

How have you seen the Lord at work this semester?

“Reaching out to new people”

“God has just shown me how he is totally in control and that I can depend on Him”

“He has completely blessed my Bible Study and I am completely blown away”

“He’s really challenged me this semester with life issues”

“I’ve seen Him use my weaknesses (timidity, leading conversations, etc.) to make His name great in the lives of others”

“I’ve seen God move so much within our pledge class, and one dude came to believe in God just recently”

“I’ve been encouraged by the stories from when people went sharing”

“He has really been teaching me to persevere even though it was really hard”

“He has really shown me His grace in my life”

“Through Asian ministry opportunities at A&M-spiritual conversations and my friends openness to Christianity”

“He has really grown me as a leader”

“I have seen the Lord give me a truly eternal perspective for the first time this semester”

“God has given me a heart for the lost”

“God has really been showing up practically in my life”

“I have grown and matured watching God’s faithfulness”

“I have been led to a lot of personal study in the Bible this semester”

“I’ve seen the Lord revealing more of himself and His presence to me, drawing me deeper into relationship with Him and claiming me as His beloved”

“I’ve seen God breaking down insecurities and barriers to growth”

“Seeing the Lord change me in my leadership”

“I love the way free lunch, leadership time, and Cru equipped me to share the gospel”

“I have seen the fellowship of believers we have help one another in hard times”

“The Lord is working through us to lead people to Christ and equip new believers”

“He has revealed my pride and has been so clearly the power force for ministry this year”

“He has worked through vulnerability in community”

“He has taken away a lot of my bitterness”

“I have grown in my willingness to go share the gospel”

“It has been incredibly apparent that lots of students have been faithful and stepped up into leadership roles”

“He has been teaching me about patience and fighting darkness with truth”

“God has blessed me with amazing roommates that really encourage me to walk with God”

“He has been opening my heart in service to other people and it has been very fulfilling”

100,000. 10,000. 1,000. Numbers that equate to a vision for lives impacted during our week together.

We will pack 100,000 meals to send to eager hands and hungry people in Ethiopia.

Malnutrition remains the world’s most serious health problem and the single biggest contributor to child mortality, more than HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined.

25,000 people (adults and children) die every day from hunger and related causes.

As a region, we will unite for a semester-long project to partner with Feeding Children Everywhere to pack 100,000 meals for hungry people in Africa.

We will initiate 10,000 spiritual conversations through social media in one evening.

If Facebook were a country, it would be the world’s third largest.

As believers, we want to maximize this platform as a voice for Christ.

We will pour into the streets of Dallas 1,000 strong as an evangelistic flash mob.

Transforming a form of social artistic expression as a way to share our faith.

These are just numbers, but the numbers add up to a hope that God will do huge things in our midst. Throughout the conference, these gospel interactions—social justice, social media and spiritual conversations—will give us multiple faith experiences.

100,000. 10,000. 1,000. More than anything, these numbers are real lives. Hungry, broken, searching lives in need of the hope of Christ.

The work God did last semester!

A part of worshiping God is looking back and remembering all that He has done. We have compiled and posted some feedback from last years students to serve as encouragement of how God has been growing and using us. Let’s praise Him together!

What has been a highlight of your semester?

“Learning and teaching others how to share their faith”

“Deciding to STINT (Short Term International)”

“Studying Isaiah!”

“Community & Fellowship, so encouraging to me and unlike any other group I’ve been in”

“Loved Winter Conference, loved leadership time & prayer”

“Learning about leading a Bible study”

“We studied Exodus this past semester and I am now more excited about learning the Old Testament”

“Getting closer to the people in my Bible study”

“Drawing close to God”

“My friend ACCEPTED CHRIST!!!”

“Being trained in evangelism and being in an environment that supports it”

“Men’s Retreat!”

“Leading Bible study with a lot more confidence”

“Seeing my friend come to Christ”

“Leading a Bible study has helped me grow as well as see others grow”

“I love Cru! It’s like a family”

“Seeing people grow in their desire to understand the truths of the Bible”

“Discipling my girls and seeing real growth in them”

“Accepting Jesus Christ!”

“Being discipled and discipling others”

How have you seen the Lord at work this semester?

“Through sharing my faith I have become more aware of God’s grace and faithfulness to save”

“I have been given accountability to reach my three roommates who are not Christians. He has really helped”

“I have been learning the importance of fellowship in the Body of Christ”

“God has changed a lot of plans in my life and in my friends’ lives”

“It has been neat seeing the younger guys step up and lead”

“I’ve seen accountability like never before”

“I see people growing from being led to becoming leaders themselves”

“I’ve developed a greater desire to share my faith and enjoyment while doing it”

“God is becoming a part of everything in my life, not just parts”

“God has been giving the girls in my Bible study boldness, compassion, and has been challenging them to believe in His goodness, faithfulness and love (and to share it with others)”

“Where to start? I have grown a ton this semester! I can now go sharing. I have started discipling girls. I began to pour into freshmen by incorporating them into my life”

“The Lord has been teaching me sacrificial obedience which was a hard lesson to learn but a sweet one”

“I have learned to be obedient and faithful to Christ even when I am not feeling it. I have a deeper relationship with Him!”

“God has taught me a ton about patience and humility”

“I’ve seen myself and other people around me start growing into leadership positions”

“I saw the people in my Bible study grow so much closer together in the Lord and gain a willingness to be honest and vulnerable with each other”

“I have seen the Lord in everyone that’s a part of Cru. It’s awesome because it helps me surround myself with people who have helped strengthen my relationship with the Lord”

“This semester the Lord has shown me the sweetness of ministry in watching those I lead grow closer to the Lord”

“I have been able to use the characteristics of God that we identified in our Bible Study to help me look for and be aware of God’s presence in my daily life”

“God has grown me across the board spiritually”

“God has shown me struggles that I need to grow through”

“I have seen a difference in myself for the first time since I can remember, I usually feel stuck in my ways, but I have changed”

“Seeing the guys I lead, lead others”

“I have learned that making time for ministry is difficult but necessary”

“I have come to appreciate prayer a lot more”

“The Lord was at work as we witnessed door to door and He really encouraged our fellow Christians to keep looking to God in all they do”

“God is at work in the guys lives in our Bible study, the Lord is just GREAT!”

“God draws me to repentance despite my constant rebellion”

“I’ve grown to be more excited about kingdom work and kingdom values”

“Being reminded to trust Him and to step out in faith”

“God creating in hearts a desire to read His word”

How were you built into this semester?

“Our Bible study group really grew together this semester”

“I loved that my Bible study leader didn’t want to just be someone that led the Bible study. They wanted to be your friend and help you grow with the Lord”

“I liked that I was able to make friends with the girls in my group and feel like we weren’t friends only in Bible Study”

“I really liked Free Lunch, it gave me a Godly perspective on a lot of things in life”

“Free lunch was very helpful. I am bringing a bunch of people next year!”

“I really learned a lot from meeting with my discipler”

“I learned a lot in going through Matthew in our Bible Study and enjoyed the emphasis on application”

“Discipleship and fellowship”

“The prayer focus”

“I enjoyed how we prayed for each other, the campus, freshmen, East Asia, and the world”

Knowing God Personally

From EveryStudent.com

What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Wait for lightning to strike? Devote yourself to unselfish religious deeds? Become a better person so that God will accept you? NONE of these. God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him. This will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now…
